A legal assistance unit at the Cairo Center for Development and Human Rights obtained nine rulings in favor women who were abused.

In a statement it released today, the center said that one case pertained to sexual violence, another to institutionalized violence and the other seven were cases of domestic violence.

Egypt's National Council for Women previously prepared a draft law to criminalize all forms of violence against men and women and presented that draft to deposed president Mohamed Mursi and his cabinet.
