Limited clashes broke out on Friday between a pro-Muslim Brotherhood march and a pro-army march in Warraq area in Giza.

Television footage showed a number of Warraq's pro-army residents and a group of Brotherhood supporters hurling stones at each other.

The scuffles flared when allies of former President Mohamed Mursi attempted to past through Warraq, whose residents staged a demonstration to show their support for the armed forces, the Middle East News Agency reported.

In Alexandria, five people were injured in clashes between supporters and opponents of Mursi earlier on Friday.
