The death toll from the bus crash on al-Alameen road in Egypt's Beheira rose to 17 army conscripts on Sunday, a health official told the state-owned news agency.

The army conscripts were riding in a civilian bus when it crashed into a trailer truck, injuring at least 32 of them.

The army sent aircrafts to transfer the dead while the wounded were transferred to a local hospital to receive medical attention.

Twelve of the injured are in a critical condition and require surgery.
