Condé Nast International is the international arm of the New-York based publishing company which produces many of the world's best known magazine brands, including Vogue, Glamour, Gentleman's Quarterly, Architectural Digest, Wired, House & Garden, Condé Nast Traveller, Tatler and Vanity Fair.  With headquarters located in London, Condé Nast International publishes over 120 magazines outside the United States, as well as 80 websites and numerous tablet and smartphone apps, in 24 markets across six continents.

Condé Nast is regarded as the dominant upmarket publisher in the industry, working with the significant creative talents in all the sectors it serves, from fashion to interior design and decoration, society and celebrity, bridal, travel and technology.

The name of the Condé Nast Group derives from its American founder, Condé Montrose Nast who, in 1909, bought Vogue, an American publication which had been in existence since 1892. He transformed it from a 24-page weekly into a monthly magazine, and this formed the nucleus of the American company. In 1913 Vanity Fair was launched in the States, and in 1915 House & Garden  was acquired. In 1959 the company was purchased by the late Samuel I Newhouse, the newspaper proprietor, as part of his media company Advance Publications. His son S. I. Newhouse Jr remains chairman of Condé Nast Inc and of Advance Publications, while his cousin Jonathan Newhouse serves as Chairman and Chief Executive of Condé Nast International.

The Condé Nast Group was the first publishing company to establish international editions. British Vogue was launched in 1916 at the height of World War I, and Les Publications Condé Nast formed four years later with the launch of Vogue ParisVogue  was launched in Australia in 1959, followed by Italian Vogue in 1965, and  L'Uomo Vogue in 1968. Condé Nast International is a leader in publishing sophisticated enhanced digital editions of its magazines, and has introduced many publishing innovations. The pocket-sized Glamour, developed by Condé Nast in Italy, has been replicated across the industry, and enabled Glamour  to seize market leadership in multiple markets. Vanity Fair, published in Italy as a weekly magazine, has rapidly become the biggest-selling quality title in the sector.

By the early 1990s, the company was publishing more than 30 titles in Western Europe, in Britain, France, Italy, Germany and Spain, plus editions in Australia, and was recognised as the leading international publisher of upmarket magazines in the world.  The decades from the mid-nineties to the present day have seen accelerated growth for Condé Nast as the company entered Japan, China, RussiaIndiaMexico and numerous new markets in Asia and Eastern Europe. Recent launches include GQ  in Brazil and Turkey, Condé Nast Traveller in Russia and India,  Glamour  in Brazil, AD  in China and India, and Vogue in The Netherlands.  Later this year the company will launch Allure  in Russia and in 2013 Condé Nast will launch editions of Vogue in Thailand and the Ukraine.

Since 1996, with the launch of Vogue.co.uk, Condé Nast International has been positioning itself as a leader in digital publishing, with branded websites, iPad and mobile apps, and editions on multiple devices.
