Gunfire shots were reportedly exchanged on Sunday in Cairo's downtown during a protest by supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, an Aswat Masriya eyewitness said.

The witness added that the gunfire shots were heard at the street intersection of Mohamed Farid and 26 July following clashes between supporters of deposed Islamist President Mohamed Mursi and their opponents.

No further information was immediately available on the source of the shooting.
