Metro’s Riders’ Advisory Council is looking for new members

Metro’s Riders’ Advisory Council is looking for riders to serve on the volunteer panel. Openings are available for residents of D.C., the city of Alexandria and Arlington, Fairfax and Montgomery counties, according to an agency news release. There also is one at-large position available for a resident of any jurisdiction served by Metro.

The 21-member council is comprised of six people each from Maryland, Virginia and the District, two at-large members and the chairman of Metro’s Accessibility Advisory Council. The panel advises Metro’s board on issues affecting Metrobus, Metrorail and MetroAccess.

People interested in applying should complete the online application form here. Applications also are available at Metro sales offices at Metro Center and Anacostia stations, the Pentagon Transit Center and Metro Headquarters, 600 Fifth St. NW.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Oct. 28. Applicants must be regular riders of Metrobus, Metrorail and/or MetroAccess.
