I’ll see what I can do.

I What Who How What Huh?

Makes sense to me.  Episodic TV is where Trek belongs.  And what will allow this to happen?  CBS (most viewed broadcast TV network) + JJ Abrams & crew (they of Lost, Fringe, Sleepy Hollow etc.) + boffo box office for the last two theatrical releases + rabid fan base - sappy Star Wars bullshit = ingredients for a next Trek generation.

  • Again, a son gets a weapon from his parent, takes it to a school and shoots a hero teacher dead and wounds students and let’s hear about how we still shouldn’t do anything about this nation’s irrational obsession with guns.

A student at a Nevada middle school opened fire on campus just before the starting bell Monday, wounding two boys and killing a math teacher who was trying to protect children from their gun-wielding classmate.

Teacher Michael Landsberry was being hailed for his actions outside Sparks Middle School, where 20 to 30 horrified students witnessed the shooting as they returned to classes from a weeklong fall break.

"In my estimation, he is a hero. … We do know he was trying to intervene," Reno Deputy Police Chief Tom Robinson said.

The unidentified shooter was killed along with Landsberry, a 45-year-old military veteran who leaves behind a wife and two stepdaughters. The motive for the shooting is still unknown. One of the wounded students is out of surgery and the other is doing well, police said.

It’s unclear whether the student committed suicide, but authorities say no shots were fired by law enforcement. Police said between 150 and 200 officers, including some from as far as 60 miles away, responded to the shooting.

The violence erupted nearly a year after a gunman shocked the nation by opening fire in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., leaving 26 dead. The Dec. 14 shooting ignited debate over how best to protect the nation’s schools and whether armed teachers should be part of that equation.

“It’s something that can be fixed — and when you have the President behind you, it’s something that can be fixed quickly.”

KARMEL ALLISON, the woman who nearly fainted at President Obama’s press conference and who signed up for health insurance through the Healthcare.gov website with no trouble at all, tells CNN that she used to be a “software engineer” and is confident the website will be fixed soon.

I believe it.

Two people are dead and two others are in critical condition after gunfire erupted at a northern Nevada middle school Monday morning, according to police. Two students said a beloved math teacher was killed when he told the shooter to put down his weapon.

Police have not identified the two fatalities, except to say one was the gun man, after shots rang out at Sparks Middle School, RGJ.com reports.

The two hospitalized victims are described as two male minors. They were received at Renown Regional Hospital at 7:45 a.m. PDT, hospital spokeswoman Angela Rambo told the Daily News. An earlier report by RGJ identified one victim as being 12 years old.

A student speaking to RGJ, 13-year-old Kyle Nucum, described one of the victims as a male teacher who after spotting a student with a gun rushed at him to get him to put it down.

"We heard a pop, like a loud pop and everyone was screaming, and then the teacher came to investigate,” Nucum said. “I thought it was a firecracker at first, but the student was pointing a gun at the teacher after the teacher told him to put it down, and then the teacher fell and everybody ran away.”

As he and the others were running he said they heard “about four or five more shots.”

Because Nucum was outside near the school’s basketball courts when it happened he said a neighboring lady allowed them to hide in her home.

Nucum approximated the teacher having been shot in chest.

Yes, we don’t need to do anything about guns.
