Morning Pixels: Davey Johnson on e-mail

bogmorningpixelsDavey Johnson is one of those figures who always manages to make his interviews interesting. Yesterday in Viera, Johnson sat down with the media, and during the course of the conversation revealed why he’s changing his e-mail.

“In this day and time, you can’t hardly do anything without somebody tweeting you or Facebooking you or something,” Johnson told reporters yesterday, via the Washington Times. “It’s just too complicated. Fact is, I’m going to change my e-mail this year because I’m getting too many unwanted e-mails. Spam. I’ve got my thing set on the highest spam filter and it still gets through.

“I’m not even going to tell you, but you can guess at my age what I might be getting.”

Awesome.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T READ THE PAPER
* The Wizards head into All-Star break on a loss.

* The Caps are winning, but they are sloppy wins.

* Davey Johnson has the highest expectations this season.

* Sally Jenkins, on the Redskins ill-advised PR tactic of citing high schools who use “Redskins”: “It would be nice if the NFL franchise in the nation’s capital were an example for all the land. But apparently Snyder takes his example from 10th graders.”

TWEET OF THE NIGHT

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Davey Johnson on his African safari trip:

“It was a great trip. I like Africa. I didn’t get eaten by any lions or leopards. I thought at one time I was going to get run over by a bull elephant. We were within 10 feet of animals in a big land rover. I took the highest seat. I figured they’d eat the people down below me before they’d get to me.”

PHOTO OF THE DAY
Ross Detwiler decorated Ryan Zimmerman’s locker with safari photoshops. Even more awesome is that the photoshops were done by reader and fan Allan Petersen.
