Lady Gaga and longtime manager Troy Carter have reportedly parted ways due to ‘creative differences.’ Carter is credited with Gaga’s explosive social media presence among other things.

Like a bad romance, Lady Gaga's longtime relationship with manager Troy Carter is over, reports Us Weekly.

The duo, who has worked together since 2007, parted ways because of "creative differences," according to multiple sources.

"It's sad but also liberating at the same time," one source with ties to both of them said.

Another supposedly liberating relationship in Gaga's life is her love affair with boyfriend Taylor Kinney. Although reports suggested they were also heading down the road to splitsville, the 27-year-old singer dismissed the rumors by showing overzealous affection for Kinney at Sunday's YouTube Music Awards in New York City.

An Instagram video showed the couple, who met on the set of her "You and I" video in 2011, kissing before she took the stage Sunday. They did take a momentary hiatus from each other in May 2012 but were reportedly together again in a month.

While Gaga holds on to one relationship and lets go of another, the singer continues promoting her "Artpop" album, which leaked Monday, about a week before its official release date, to her little Monsters.

But the applause died down when she put on a "deeply strange and out-of-tune" performance Sunday, as the Los Angeles Times described it. In fact, her weird act, which featured tears, flat notes and fake decaying teeth the singer wore to sing "Dope," reportedly pushed more than 4,000 online viewers to exit the site.

As her longtime manager makes his exit from business dealings with Gaga, he moves forward with plenty of successful endeavors to focus on. The 40-year-old businessman reportedly invests in Uber, Spotify, and Dropbox, reports Tech Crunch.

Since he's reportedly credited as the reason for Gaga's overwhelming success in the social media space -- she has more than 60 million Facebook fans and more than 40 million Twitter followers -- Carter has supposedly made solid earnings for himself.

"One door closes, and another opens," the source added to Us.
