Two Maryland press releases clumped into one post. Enjoy.

>> Former men’s basketball coaches Gary Williams and Jim Calhoun will host a “Lunch with the Legends” on Friday afternoon before their former teams, Maryland and Connecticut, face off at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center at 6:30 p.m. The event, which costs $100, will be held at the University Club in New York City at Noon.

The Huskies and Terrapins haven’t met since 2002, when Williams’s national title team beat Calhoun’s squad, 90-82, in the NCAA tournament region finals.

Tickets, if you’re into this sort of thing, can be purchased here. No word if Rudy Gay will be discussed.

>> Maryland Wrestling Coach Kerry McCoy will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for its class of 2014. He was a three-time all-American at Penn State, a two-time Olympian and a three-time ACC coach of the year.

“I’m truly honored and humbled by this,” McCoy said in a release. “I’ve seen so many greats get into the hall and knowing my name will be listed with them is unbelievable. I’m so happy.”

Said Athletic Director Kevin Anderson: “I want to congratulate Kerry on this outstanding honor. Kerry’s achievements at the collegiate and Olympic level, and his passion for the sport are unparalleled. On behalf of our administration and our student-athletes at the University of Maryland, we are proud to have him lead our wrestling program and are thrilled that he has received this wonderful honor.”

Former Maryland wrestler Thomas Norris, a two-time ACC champion who eventually received the Medal of Honor while serving as a Navy SEAL in Vietnam, will receive a Medal of Courage from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as well. The induction ceremony will happen in Stillwater, Okla., on June 20-21.
