Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. A native of Warrenton, Va., he got his start in journalism covering sports for his hometown paper, The Fauquier Citizen, in 1999 and eventually became sports editor. Jones went on to cover the Washington Wizards for the Washington Times and CSNWashington.com from 2007 to 2010 before covering the Redskins for TBD.com for the 2010 season. He joined The Post’s staff in February, 2011. He lives on the Eastern Shore with his wife, Katie, and four children, Siera, Timothy, Malakai and Silas. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
