INNOVATIVE URINE SENSOR FOR DIAPERS

RESUMEN - ABSTRACT

Nuestro objetivo es desarrollar un dispositivo de aviso reutilizable para todos los usuarios de pañal y sus cuidadores, que sea discreto, cómodo, higiénico, fácil de utilizar, para todo tipo de pañales y absorbentes de cualquier marca y adaptado a las necesidades de cada colectivo de usuarios, y así dar tranquilidad a las madres respecto a cuando cambiar el pañal, tratar eficazmente la enuresis nocturna, evitar la dermatitis del pañal, mejorar la autogestión de la incontinencia urinaria, mejorar la privacidad del usuario adulto del pañal, facilitar el trabajo del cuidador y permitir a los centros residenciales proporcionar una atención personalizada.
Our goal is to develop a reusable warning device for all diaper users and their carers. The device has to be discreet, comfortable, hygienic, easy to use, for all types of diapers and sanitary napkins of any brand and tailored to the needs of each group of users: To keep mothers informed when to change the diaper, provide effective treatment for nocturnal enuresis, prevent dermatitis diaper, improve self-management of urinary incontinence, improve the privacy of adult diaper users, facilitate the work of the caregiver and allowing residential centers provide personalized attention.

Necesitamos tu ayuda para poder industrializar el producto y poder distribuirlo al precio más bajo posible y así ayudar al máximo número de personas afectadas, pensando muy especialmente en los cuidadores de dependientes, los cuales consideramos que son los más afectados en su día a día por el uso de absorbentes higiénicos.
We need your help to industrialize the product and distribute it at the lowest price possible and help the greatest number of people affected, thinking most especially in caregivers, which we found are the most affected in their daily routine using sanitary absorbent.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO - PROJECT DESCRIPTION

El proyecto "Siempre Secos" ofrece 5 soluciones a distintos:
"Always Dry" project offers 5 solutions to different problems:

CLIPIS (para bebés // for babies )

Consiste, por un lado, en un sensor de orina que se coloca en el pañal del bebé y por otro lado, en una pulsera para los padres que les indica el estado del pañal y les avisa con una vibración cuando hay que cambiarlo.
It comprises an urine sensor which is placed in the diaper, and a bracelet for parents which indicates the status of the diaper and alerts them with a vibration when need to change it.

Clipis está destinado a garantizar tu tranquilidad y te ayuda a:
Clipis is designed to ensure your peace of mind and help you:

• Saber en que momento debes cambiar el pañal.
• To know when you have to change the diaper.
• Ahorrar, puesto que no volverás a tirar pañales secos.
• Save money, because you'll never throw away dry diapers.
• Mantener siempre seco a tu bebé, evitando la dermatitis del pañal, y
• Always keep your baby dry, preventing diaper rash, and
• Reducir el cambio de mudas.
• Reduce clothing changes.

KiDRY (para niños o adolescentes con enuresis // for kids or teens with nighttime bedwetting)

Consiste en un sensor de orina para niños con enuresis nocturna y una alarma de sobremesa, la cual se activa en el preciso instante en que se escapan las primeras gotas de orina, emitiendo una señal acústica para despertar al niñ@ y de esta forma tome conciencia y control sobre las micciones. También existe la posibilidad de poner el dispositivo en modo vibración para despertar únicamente al niño, muy útil sobretodo cuando tienen hermanos, van a dormir a casa de los amigos o van de colonias.
Consists of an urine sensor for kids with nighttime bedwetting and a desktop alarm, which is activated at the same moment that escape the first drops of urine, and beeps to aware about urination.
It is also possible to set the device on vibrate mode to wake up the child only, very useful especially when there are brothers and sisters in the same room, when they go to sleep at a friend's house or go camping.

KiDRY está destinado a: // KiDRY is designed to:

• Ayudar al niño a controlar sus esfínteres durante la noche.
• Help the child in the toilet training during the night.
• Eliminar el problema de la enuresis definitivamente en el 70% de los casos.
• Eliminating nighttime bedwetting definitely in 70% of cases.
• Controlar la enuresis de forma paliativa en el otro 30% de los casos.

KiDRY Lite es un modelo sin receptor de sobremesa que avisa sólo por vibración del propio sensor. Es muy útil para cuando se pasa la noche fuera de casa o no se tiene un sueño tan profundo.
KiDRY Lite is model without desktop receptor which alerts the user by a vibration sensor. It is very useful when the child spends the night away from home or do not have such a deep sleep.

Ignis (incontinencia urinaria severa // severe urinary incontinence)

Consiste en un sensor de orina para personas con incontinencia urinaria severa que se coloca en la compresa y una pulsera para el propio usuario que le indica el estado de la compresa y le avisa con una vibración cuando hay que cambiarla.
Consists of an urine sensor for users with severe urinary incontinence which is placed on the sanitary napkin and a bracelet that carries the user which displays the status of the sanitary napkin and warn with a vibration when you have to change it.

• Dar tranquilidad al incontinente sobre el estado de su absorbente.
• Give peace of mind to incontinent on the status of your sanitary napkin.
• Permitirle más discreción en su vida cotidiana, evitando manchas y olores.
• Allow the incontinent more discretion in their daily lives, preventing stains and odors.

Ignis Lite es un modelo más sencillo y sin pulsera receptora, que te avisa por vibración del propio sensor cuando la compresa está saturada.
Ignis Lite is a simpler model without receiver bracelet that alerts the user by vibrating the sensor when the sanitary napkin has to be replaced.

Ignis Plus (para ancianos y dependientes // for elderly and dependent)

Consiste en un sensor de orina destinado al cuidado de ancianos y dependientes que se coloca en el pañal. En caso de uso doméstico, el cuidador cuenta con una pulsera que muestra el nivel de saturación del pañal. Ignis plus se adapta a todas las tallas de pañales de adulto.
Consists of an urine sensor for elders and dependent care that is placed in the diaper. If household, the caregiver has a bracelet that displays the saturation level of the diaper. Ignis plus fits adult diapers of all sizes.

Ignis Plus Lite es un modelo más sencillo y sin pulsera receptora, que te mostrará el estado del pañal en el propio sensor mediante tres luces. También es un modelo adecuado para centros geriátricos que quiere racionalizar sus rutinas de cambio de pañal
Ignis Plus Lite is a simpler model without receiver bracelet, which will show the status of the diaper in the sensor itself through three lights. It is also a suitable model for nursing homes that want to streamline their diaper change routine.

Ignis Profesional (centros geriátricos // geriatric centers)

El modelo profesional para geriátricos, funciona como los modelos domésticos, con la diferencia que muestra los avisos en un monitor (PC, Tablet, Smartphone) a disposición del equipo de enfermería, así como en dispositivo de bolsillo tipo “busca”.
The professional model for geriatrics, work as domestic models, with the difference that the ads displays on a monitor (PC, Tablet, Smartphone) available to nursing staff, as well as pocket device beeper type.

Ignis Profesional está destinado para: // Ignis Professional is designed to:

• Mejorar la higiene de los pacientes hospitalizados o institucionalizados.
• Improve the health of patients hospitalized or institutionalized.
• Evitar olores y problemas cutáneos.
• Prevent smells and skin problems.
• Optimizar el trabajo del personal del centro.

• Racionalizar el uso de absorbentes en colectividades.

Nuestra solución se basa en un detector de humedad extraplano, de tan solo unos milímetros de espesor, realizado en silicona médica y de una sola pieza que nos ofrece confort y facilidad de limpieza.
Our solution is based on a one-piece moisture detector slim, of only a few millimeters thick, made of medical silicone that offers comfort and ease of cleaning.

Las principales innovaciones del sistema "Siempre Secos" son el control de nivel de saturación del pañal y la ergonomía e higiene muy mejoradas frente a otros sistemas de detección de orina. También hemos eliminado los contactos metálicos, cables y piezas rígidas.
The main innovations of the system "Always Dry" are the control of diaper saturation level, highly improved ergonomics and hygiene compared to other old detection systems of urine. We have removed the metal contacts, cables and rigid parts also.

PRESUPUESTO // BUDGET

Hemos invertido unos 40.000€ y un año de trabajo. Contamos con un préstamo de 25.000€ y necesitamos tu ayuda para conseguir otros 20.000€ más para poder industrializar el proyecto y poder distribuir el producto al precio más bajo posible y así ayudar al máximo número de personas afectadas, pensando muy especialmente en los cuidadores de dependientes, los cuales consideramos que son los más afectados en su día a día por el uso de absorbentes higiénicos.
We have invested around 40,000€ and a year of intense work. We have a 25,000€ loan and we need your help to get another 20,000€ more for industrialising the project and distribute the product at the lowest price possible and to help the maximum number of people affected, thinking particularly on  caregivers, which we believe are the most affected in their daily rutine due to the use of sanitary napkins and diapers.

A raíz de vivir en primera persona los problemas del uso de pañales, decidimos desarrollar una solución para nuestro caso.
Al compartir nuestra experiencia con otras personas nos dimos cuenta de que el uso de pañales es mucho más habitual de lo que pensábamos y que afecta a diferentes colectivos de personas: padres y madres de bebés, niños con enuresis nocturna, personas con incontinencia urinaria, ancianos y dependientes.
Having firsthand experience the problems of using diapers we decided to develop a solution for our case.
By sharing our experience with others we realized that using diapers is far more common than we thought and it affects different groups of people who use: parents of babies, children with nighttime bedwetting , people with urinary incontinence, the elderly and dependent.

Como cuidadores NO hemos encontrado en el mercado una solución satisfactoria para gestionar el uso de estos consumibles por lo que nos hemos puesto manos a la obra para desarrollar este producto que pensamos nos ayudaría y ayudaría a mucha gente en su día a día, tanto si son usuarios como si son cuidadores.
As caregivers we have NOT found in the market a satisfactory solution to manage these supplies, so we set to work on developing this product we thought would help us and help many people in their daily lives, whether users as if they are caregivers.
