As noted yesterday, this promises to be one of the coldest Thanksgiving days on record. But at least the drenching today is just the sun. In fact, it is likely to stay on the dry side through the weekend, so shoppers should be off and running. It is hard to believe that our normal high is still in the lower 50s as we will not be near that over the next few days.
Thanksgiving Day (Thursday): The day looks great…from indoors with the sun back in full control. However, the winds are still perky, coming out of the west at 10-15 mph. That translates into sub-freezing wind chills all day long as highs are mainly in the mid-30s. Confidence: High
Tonight: The stars come out in full force and check out a very bright Venus beaming in the western sky. Get back in quickly though, as temperatures hastily fall below freezing and lows end up near 20 in colder spots and mid-20s elsewhere. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Friday): Temperatures continue to struggle as we are underneath one, big, chilly Arctic high. Readings peak in the upper 30s to lower 40s despite persistent sunshine and light winds from the south. All you frenzied shoppers better be bundled up! Confidence: High
Tomorrow night: The evening sees another quick drop to freezing under mainly clear skies. Lows again fall to the low-to-mid 20s. Confidence: High
A LOOK AHEAD
Saturday brings little improvement to the weather scene with highs mainly in the lower 40s since clouds become more prevalent as the day wears on. Breezes are light but outerwear should be heavy. Overnight lows fall to the upper 20s to lower 30s. Confidence: Medium-High

Sunday has a touch more warmth to offer with highs reaching the mid-40s in most of the area. Skies could start the day out fairly sunny but high clouds could build in by afternoon blurring the sunshine. Overnight lows hold mainly in the low-to-mid 30s as clouds are likely to increase.
