DENMARK. Copenhagen Airport posted a +3.6% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers in October, with the total hitting 2.2 million, a monthly record. Year-to-date, Copenhagen Airport has handled 20.5 million passengers – a +3.2% year-on-year increase.

Copenhagen Airport CEO Thomas Woldbye said: “Our growth for the year is almost +50% higher than the European average, and we're very pleased with the October growth rate of +3.6%. It is also important to note that in October we had both more business travellers and more leisure travellers, as more people travelled during the autumn school break, and there were more business travellers in the other weeks of the month.”

In the month the number of international passengers grew by +3.9%, while the number of transfer passengers was down by -1.8%. The number of domestic passengers remained almost the same level as last year with a decline of just -0.4%.
