GAPP's First Advisory Board

The School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) is hosting a meeting of the newly-established advisory board beginning on Sunday. The advisory board is a body consisting of 12 international experts from different fields and professional backgrounds, including renowned public figures.

“The board is comprised of experts in and outside the academic field to paint a full picture of the school, and give genuine advice and recommendations to better the school of GAPP,” Dean Nabil Fahmy explained. “As the board is comprised of experts from various fields, they will be able to identify issues that are to be important regarding the school’s future and advise on how to tackle those issues.”

The board will assist the school in applying its vision and mission, setting a path to enhance the school’s image nationally as well as internationally, thus making the school, its students and its alumni more competitive on a global scale.

“The main aim of the board is, quite simply, strengthening the networks inside and outside the University,” said Fahmy.

Laila El Baradei Agrees to Act as GAPP Dean

Laila El Baradei has accepted to act as the dean of GAPP. Dean Nabil Fahmy is currently serving as the Egyptian minister of foreign affairs, and we all wish him success in this new position.

El Baradei has been the associate dean of the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy for several years. She is fully aware of the issues facing GAPP, and she is the best person to continue to advance the school’s future plans. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Professor El Baradei and wish her success in this new position.

“We live in a world of vast opportunities, stark contradictions and grave challenges. In this light, passivism and apathy are not options or choices that we can afford or condone. Nor can the world community respond appropriately if it does not empower itself with inclusive multidisciplinary thinking, tolerance for others and a global outlook to the policy issues it faces"
