Brian Orakpo continues to accumulate sacks

Linebacker Brian Orakpo continues to amass sacks in the second half of the season.

He had 1-1/2 sacks in the Redskins’ loss Sunday to the Atlanta Falcons. That gives Orakpo seven sacks in the last six games and 10 sacks for the season. It is the first time that Orakpo has reached double figures in sacks in a season since he had 11 in his rookie year in 2009.

“I’m just playing my game,” said Orakpo, who is eligible for unrestricted free agency in the offseason. “Y’all know me, man. I’m always a confident guy. I can care less about what anybody says and stuff like that. So I always play with a lot of confidence, play with a motor. I kept getting after it. I know sacks are gonna come.

“That’s the hardest statistic to do in this league. That’s why sack guys get paid a lot of money because sacks are so hard to get, you know what I mean. They’re gonna come. And that’s what I felt like for, that they were gonna come and I just had to keep going, keep playing my game.”
