Baghdad (NINA) – Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Ali Larijani, said that the enemies of Iraqi and Iranian people do not for them to get close and for Iraq to develop and economically prosper.
Iranian IRNA News Agency, quoted Larijani saying on Tuesday, Dec. 17, during his meeting with leader of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jafari, that it is necessary for both friendly countries to consolidate their relations and cooperation, pointing out the joint religious, historic, geographic and cultural relations.
He pointed out that it is important for Iran to have a stable neighboring country that enjoys security.
As for the situation in Syria, Larijani pointed out that preparing and sending terrorists across the borders to other countries leads to destabilize and tension in the area’ stressing that the Syrian crisis cannot be solved but through political means.
For his part, Jafari described Iran as being Iraq’s friendly neighbor, stressing the importance to consolidate relations between them, since Iran is Iraq’s big stable neighbor.
Jafari pointed out that Iran played an important role in stabilizing Iraq and that consultation between them contributes to the area’s peace and stability. / End
