Baghdad (NINA)– A delegation from the Media and Journalism Department in the College of Arts of the Islamic University visited the National Iraqi News Agency NINA's offices on Monday to get acquainted with the activities in the agency, as well as making use from getting to know some practical aspects of the press profession.
Students and instructors of the Media Department emphasized that they had a better understanding, during this visit, on the way that news agencies operate.
Professor at the Media Department in the university Fadhil al-Badrani mentioned that the visit comes within the department's programmes and teaching curriculums to get acquainted with journalistic work in media institutions.
He added "We used to tell students about press profession, citing NINA agency as an advanced example for modern Iraqi media, and our students had the wish to visit the agency and have a closer look."
For his part, Ibrahim Hardan, an instructor at the department, said that he was introduced to the operation of news agencies for the first time, stressing that such visit added a lot to his knowledge.
He concluded by saying that "I used to think that the news are provided to Satellite channels directly by the reports, but I noticed that news agencies, especially NINA, are main news sources for these channels." /End
