After A Big Year, Is 2014 American Soccer's Shining Moment?

Americans' interest in soccer has been growing over the years. 2013 was a particularly strong year for the sport in the U.S.

Highlights include: the men's national team qualified for the World Cup, Clint Dempsey played for a spell in Seattle, and David Beckham launched a bid to bring a Major League Soccer franchise to Miami.

But despite a fine year, have the positives been enough to substantially raise the profile of the game in America?

Grant Wahl, senior writer for Sports Illustrated, weighs in.
