Yes, the holidays are upon us again. We had an easy Hurricane Season, although other parts of the country had their own severe weather events to contend with. Let’s hope that 2014 will be as kind.

With Christmas fast approaching, I see many of my fellow friends are in a frenzy to get ready for the Holiday. Yes its nice, the gift giving, the tree decorations, having family over for the holidays and enjoying a big feast.

But, stop for a moment and remember those who are less fortunate, those who will spend their holidays living on the streets. Think of those serving on the front lines whose lives are in constant danger, they would rather be at home with their families too. Think about the homeless who will go without decent food, families living on the streets because they have lost everything to the economy while you carve that turkey, dip your spoons into those mashed potatoes, and other fine dishes. My WISH for this Christmas is that if everyone in America gave a small donation, perhaps no one would go hungry or freeze during this holiday season.

Below you can find information and ways to help with #OpSafeWinter:

Fellow Anon and Citizens of the world, We are proud to announce #OPSafeWinterNYC.

In this age of consumerism there is very little love or care about each other, we’re here to change that. No longer shall we stand by and watch isolation and fear be spread by the establishment, which is killing and destroying community and lives. We all have a voice, so make yours heard, you are the power, your choice, your life, you are the motivation for justice

The number of homeless people in New York City has increased dramatically. More homeless die from freezing than from starvation each year. Winter is approaching and many more will need help bearing the cold.

Please share this OP with as many people as possible.

Work together online as in real life, everyone can help no matter how small or big the activity.
We can care, we must care, it is our nature and duty to help each other.

Noon to Four PM December 26th, 2013, Zuccotti Park, New York City

Got Stuff? The day after Christmas traditionally is a day in New York to don your new duds and hit the stores for discounts, holiday returns & general consumer gluttony.

Someone slip you some Gift Cards? Returning something expensive & have no idea what to do with the store credit? Your trustafarian sugar daddy pushing you to make a big ticket item?

Take a stand with your fellow netizens & fill a backpack with new loot that those living on the streets might enjoy.

Noon: Gather at Liberty Plaza to sort & prepare backpacks
1 PM: Know Your Rights Skillshare: Street Mask Edition
2 PM: Deployment
4 PM: Potluck Grub & Soup
5 PM: Clean-up
6 PM: Night Watch

Those living outdoors sleeping bags, mats, space blankets, hand warmers, backpacks, gloves, scarves, thermal undergarments, and other items.
