A police officer was killed and another was injured in Minya's Malawi district on Monday as unknown gunmen fired gunshots at a military force that was designated to secure the funeral of a solider, security sources said.
Reda Abdel Rehim, 39, was shot dead with live ammunition while Mohamed Abdel Hamid suffered an injury in his left foot from a birdshot.
The unknown assailants managed to escape right after their attack on the security forces.
