We run a number of groundbreaking programmes aimed at empowering women through news, information, free legal assistance and media development. Our global team of 25 journalists provide information on the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time, including natural disasters, conflicts, refugees, hunger, diseases and climate change. Our news service has become an essential tool for relief workers, donors, policy makers, students, journalists and the general public.

Our AlertNet Climate news service covers the human and development impacts of climate change, focusing on adaptation, climate compatible development, security issues, disaster risk reduction and forest protection. Our network includes over 80 journalists who report from developing countries most at risk from a warming planet.

Our polls put human rights, corruption and the rule of law at the heart of the news agenda. The result of a close collaboration with the world’s leading gender experts, the Foundation’s latest polls – Women’s Right’s in the Arab World (2013) The Best and Worst G20 Countries to be a Woman (2012) and The Worst Countries to be a Woman (2011) - obtained extensive media coverage around the word.

Our journalists are resident-experts in the areas of: women’s rights, anti-corruption, climate change and humanitarian news.

They often provide comments and in-depth analysis to several media organisation, internationally, and in several languages. From television shows to radios, from magazines to podcasts, our team is a formidable asset for any media outlet around the world. We often report exclusive award-winning stories and we are happy to comment on them and to share them with you. At no cost.

Our CEO, Monique Villa, is a passionate defender of women’s rights and a champion of women’s empowerment. A former journalist, Monique is a great speaker, and is familiar with a live TV environment. She is often in the news and is available for interviews. Monique is fluent in French and Italian.
