Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), was awarded the Colina De Boe Medal by the representative of the President of Guinea Bissau.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris.
This medal is considered Alwaleed's 65th honorary medal.
The prince was accompanied by Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel, Vice Chairwoman and Secretary General of the Board of Trustees of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed, a delegation from KHC and Alwaleed Foundation.
Prince Alwaleed and the representative two discussed economic issues including future investment opportunities in the country.
He had visited Guinea-Bissau in 2006 and was received by Guinea-Bissau’s Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation. He was given a tour of a hospital and Casa Emanuel orphanage during his trip.
Prince Alwaleed also met with former President of Guinea-Bissau, Joao Bernardo Vieira during the visit and awarded the "National Medal of Merit for Cooperative Development" by the President. The prince expressed his readiness to help the 30,000 famine-stricken people south of the country through the UN World Food Program.
During his 2005 visit to the country, Alwaleed had met with Guinea-Bissau’s First Lady. The two discussed how best to help women and children in need. He had expressed his readiness to contribute where help was required.
