A Note From My Sickbed
I’ve come down with a bad case of diverticulitis, so I’m in bed, only occasionally able to traipse to my desk. Aside from episodes of sudden extreme pain, it’s the medication that makes it nearly impossible to write, which is frustrating for me. So no column today, unfortunately. But I’ll be back on Monday – because it’ll take more than some nasty little bug to keep me down.
NOTES IN THE MARGIN
You can check out my Twitter feed by going here. But please note that my tweets are sometimes deliberately provocative, often made in jest, and largely consist of me thinking out loud.
I’ve written a couple of books, which you might want to peruse. Here is the link for buying the second edition of my 1993 book, Reclaiming the American Right: The Lost Legacy of the Conservative Movement, with an Introduction by Prof. George W. Carey, a Foreword by Patrick J. Buchanan, and critical essays by Scott Richert and David Gordon (ISI Books, 2008).
You can buy An Enemy of the State: The Life of Murray N. Rothbard (Prometheus Books, 2000), my biography of the great libertarian thinker, here.

Get well soon.
That's not enough. Your output is extraordinary. And it is much appreciated.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. While you're being a lay-about, might check out Ben Fuchs' 'Pharmacist Ben' show and/or website…the guy is a nutritional pharmacist and may well have some advice for turning things around for you either on his site, archives or show without the medication…Look forward to your next column…

Get well soon Justin. Try Greek unsweetened yogurt and other probiotics daily. It will do wonders for your gut.

I have the same condition but rarely suffer any attacks. I eat fiber daily and twice a day take a teaspoon of pure psylium fiber supplement. That works for me so long as I don't start skipping meals, etc. which is also a bad idea with this.
This has worked for years with me, though the fiber (tasteless and zero calories) takes some getting used to. This condition of course varies and yours may be more severe. No fun when you start getting pain in the gut from infection. Get well soon!

Justin, I suffer form diverticulitis, too. When I stopped eating peanuts, almost all episodes went away.

May you be soon a champion for truth again. When the Iranian foreign minister, Zarif, was attacked by the hardliners at home, he ended up in a wheelchair. Can your condition have anything to do with that? Just kidding. Get well.

I've been trying to sort through some digestive issues of my own, and know how debilitating they can be. These are a couple links I discovered in the past few months, while trying to work through my own digestion problems, that might help you. http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/020… http://www.gutsense.org/gutsense/diverticular.htm…
Anyway, I hope you get better soon.
