Hilla / NINA/ 4 balloons and 12 gliders flew on Sunday over the tourist resort of Babylon in a festival of flying with the participation of 45 athletes from seven European countries.
Governor of Babylon Sadeq Madloul al-Sultani said in a press statement that this festival, which lasts two days, expresses a desire to maintain openness to the Arab and world culture , and their willingness to cooperate and promote tourism.
He added : "The local government has provided a lot of logistical facilities for the athletes who enjoyed the attendants the performances of aviation art .
For his part, Leon Valmiera,an athlete from Poland, said told the y National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that he came to Babylon to see the historic city which he has read much about it and he was happy to present performances by a sailing plane and entertain the audience./ End
