Welcome to the JSTOR Showcase

Welcome to the JSTOR Showcase - an experimental place for JSTOR and our research partners to demonstrate and get feedback on new and interesting ways to explore and utilize the information in our collections.

The mission of JSTOR's Advanced Technology Research Team is to understand and use technology to enhance, explore and more effectively use the content in the archive, the showcase is a window onto those activities. Our hope is that, in partnership with other scholars, we can bring additional value to the communities that JSTOR serves.

We are eager to showcase useful tools and techniques, including innovative visualization, exploration, discovery and analysis technologies on text, images or structure.

Please explore the projects, enjoy your visit here, and give us feedback on the tools we present. If you are feel you have something that would be of value to the wider community please contact us—we would be delighted to consider hosting it here.

Featured Project: DFR

DFR is a set of web tools designed to allow for the visual exploration of large-scale data sets. Currently using the JSTOR data set, you can:

  1. Search through a subset of the JSTOR repository for word frequencies.
  2. Download a collection of word frequencies based on your search criteria.
  3. Search through JSTOR citation data.
