Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett was arrested at a bar in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport for refusing to cooperate with airport police who were called about an intoxicated man at the grill, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesman Patrick Hogan told the newspaper that Jarrett was taken into custody about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Northern Lights Grill. Police said he seemed intoxicated, acted belligerent and refused to follow orders. Jarrett, 59, was booked into Hennepin County Jail on a preliminary charge of obstructing the legal process by interfering with a peace officer, the Associated Press reported.

His bond was set at $300, a county jail deputy told The Washington Post. According to Jarrett’s charge details, the reason for arrest was a tab charge. He posted bond and was released from custody early Thursday. It says his court date is June 6.

An e-mail and phone calls to a Fox News media representative seeking comment were not immediately returned. Airport officials did not immediately return calls either. On May 12, TV Newser reported: “Fox News tells us Gregg Jarrett ‘requested time off for personal reasons and Fox obliged.’” But no other details were mentioned. After the news of his arrest broke, Jarrett’s mugshot, which was also obtained by CBS Minnesota, started making its way around Twitter:

Airport police were completing reports Wednesday. Hogan told the Star-Tribune more information on the incident will be released once those reports are complete. Jarrett serves as co-anchor of Fox News Channel’s “America’s News HQ. Last year, he covered the murder trial of George Zimmerman and the crash of Asiana Flight 214 at the San Francisco Airport, according to his biography on FoxNews.com.

UPDATE 12:05 p.m.: The Post’s Erik Wemple blog reports that Fox News has issued a statement:

“We were made aware late last night that Gregg Jarrett was arrested in Minneapolis yesterday and charged with a misdemeanor. He is dealing with serious personal issues at this time. A date for which Gregg might return to air has yet to be determined.”
