Video: Rival protests are staged in Yemen capital
#InsideYemenTensions rise in Yemen as Houthi Shias demand the resignation of the Yemeni government over fuel price hike
Tensions in Yemen rise between pro and anti-government supporters, as two differentiated rallies were staged after Friday prayers in the capital Sana’a.
The Houthis - who are leading the anti-government protest - say they want the Yemeni government toppled after the government decided to increase the prices of fuel and diesel.
Supporters of the government say the Houthis are utilizing the fuel price hikes to gain more supporters for their insidious plan to govern Yemen according to their religious doctrine.
While many of the protests are peaceful, increasing sectarian clashes and tensions have lead many to fear the country could be pulled apart.
