Visiting Research Scholars


The University provides institutional affiliation for visiting research scholars who wish to do research in Egypt and already have a source of funding, but who need such an affiliation.

The benefits of this affiliation include access to the library, an auc email account, and participation in AUC's academic life.The affiliation does not provide housing, office space, or assistance with research permits or visa's. Visiting Research Scholars must agree to the University's regulations regarding responsibility in research and publication.

Additional requirements include a presentation at the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy Dean's Seminar Lecture Series and presenting the school with a copy of research results such as a copy of the book and/or copies of any published articles.

Note: Visiting Research Scholars seeking affiliation with the Forced Migration and Refugee Studies Program or the Institute for Gender and Women's Studies should contact these centers directly regarding their specific affiliation policies.

To apply, the candidate must submit the following: (1) a current resume (2) a letter of introduction from the applicant's home institution (3) a research proposal (4) a statement describing the source(s) and amount(s) of funding available for the applicant in Egypt

Applications and supporting documents should be submitted to the Dean of the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy for approval.
