Red Sea Genomics, Microbial Life

Utilizing metagenomics, a contemporary approach to instigate biological life, Rania Siam, associate professor of biology, and her team explore microbial life in several brine pools in the Red Sea to identify novel microbes and bacterial communities and their associated genes, as well as map new genes that have diverse biotechnological and pharmaceutical applications.
