Condé Nast Appoints Howard Mittman Vice President and Publisher of GQ

 

NEW YORK, NY—September 5, 2014—Robert A. Sauerberg, president of Condé Nast, today named Howard Mittman vice president and publisher of GQ.
“Howard is one of the best business leaders in our industry,” said Mr. Sauerberg. “He has led Wired to record success on all platforms and has contributed significantly to the company’s digital growth. I’m looking forward to working with him to take GQ to new heights.”

Mr. Mittman was previously vice president and publisher of Wired, which, under his oversight, was named to both Advertising Age’s A-List, and Adweek's Hot List numerous times. In 2013, Wired was named Marketing Team of the Year by Media Industry News. Mr. Mittman launched several successful new brand extensions at Wired including the development of the Wired Business Conference, the Wired Café at Comic-Con and the Wired Data | Life Conference. Mr. Mittman led the highly successful launch of Wired on the tablet and also oversaw several retail partnership development programs including in-store retail partnerships at Target stores nationwide and in 2013 oversaw the launch of a large scale e-commerce program with MasterCard blending digital and analog commerce.

 


Previously, Mr. Mittman served as the acting publisher at Time Inc.'s Popular Science and as an account executive at Time Inc.’s Mutual Funds, New York Magazine and Financial Planning Magazine.


Mr. Mittman is a graduate of The Ohio State University and lives in New York City with his wife and two children.
