Scott E. Calder is President, CEO, and co-founder of Mainstream Data, Inc., where he is responsible for strategic direction and general management of the Salt Lake City-based communications and cloud services company. Mainstream provides software applications and mission critical services for the world’s premier information companies including Bloomberg, Reuters, Technicolor Digital Cinema, the European Pressphoto Agency, Agencia EFE (Spain), Deutsche Presse-Agentur (Germany), and Maxppp (France). Mr. Calder served as Vice President of Marketing at Bonneville Telecommunications Company, a satellite video and data communications firm, prior to founding Mainstream in 1985. Before he joined Bonneville in 1982, Mr. Calder spent three years as a senior consultant at Bain and Company, a global corporate-strategy consulting firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Calder holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in American Literature and Economics from the University of Utah and earned an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business in 1980.

Mr. Calder is a recognized authority on the confluence of information, internet technology, and software, and speaks at trade shows and industry conferences where he focuses on cloud services, satellite communications, and the rapidly evolving technology that is shaping our information-centric world. Mr. Calder is the proud father of five children and enjoys skiing, mountaineering, personal computing, and the (very) occasional day off with his family.

Jeffrey P. Parker

Chair, Mainstream Data | CEO (retired), CCBN

Mr. Parker is a founder and former CEO of CCBN, a web-based information services company, and the founder and Managing Director of Private Equity Investments, a venture capital firm focusing on startup and early-stage companies. As the founder and CEO of several other successful financial service companies over the past 15 years, Mr. Parker brings an operating perspective to the companies in which he invests, as well as a wealth of financial expertise and an extended network of domestic and international business contacts.

In 1980, Mr. Parker founded Technical Data Corporation, which he sold in 1986 to Canadian publishing giant Thomson Corporation. In 1982, he became Chairman and CEO of Business Research Corporation, and in 1983 founded First Call Corporation. Under his leadership, Thomson Financial Services (TFS) became a major provider of proprietary financial information to the investment and corporate communities. TFS currently serves over 75,000 institutional clients worldwide, and has annual revenues in excess of $750 million.

Prior to his association with TFS, Mr. Parker served as Vice President and Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments in Boston. He has also held management positions at Smith, Barney, Loeb Rhoads, and A.G. Becker. In addition to being an active advisor to many early-stage financial services companies, Mr. Parker is also Chairman of Vision Research Organization (West Palm Beach), a Director of Mainstream Data, Inc. (Salt Lake City), and a Venture Partner at GrandBanks Capital (Boston).

Mr. Parker is a graduate of Cornell University where he received a Bachelors of Engineering degree in 1965, a Masters of Engineering in 1966, and an MBA in 1970. An active supporter of the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Mr. Parker was an early participant in Cornell’s Entrepreneur of the Year Celebration, a co-founder and both a past and the current co-chair of the university’s Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise Program, a Johnson School Advisory Council member since 1987, and Chair of the school’s annual fund from 1990 to 1996. Mr. Parker was a member of the Major Gifts Committee for his 25th reunion, and a member of the Cornell University council for the periods 1986-90 and 1992-present. In 1995, Mr. Parker was appointed to the university’s Board of Trustees and in 2001 was named Cornell’s Entrepreneur of the Year and inducted into the Johnson School’s Hall.

Senior Vice President of Finance/CFO

Mitch brings more than 25 years of financial management experience to Mainstream Data. Mitch joined Mainstream Data in 1990, and has served the company as controller, Senior Vice President of Operations and Senior Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining Mainstream Data, Mitch served as Vice President of Operations for Wavo Corporation. He has more than 15 years of experience in the data and audio communications industry.

Mitch holds a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Utah, and an MBA from Utah State University. Mitch is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants.
