BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- Marvel Entertainment Inc. MVL, +1.62% said Thursday that its shareholders at a special meeting approved the company's deal to be acquired by Walt Disney Co. DIS, +1.29% Marvel, which owns such popular comic-book icons as Spider-Man, Iron Man and X-Men, said it expects the deal, which is valued at about $4.3 billion based on Disney's closing price Wednesday, will be completed after the market closes Thursday.
