Dating can be frustrating. Remember the time Charlotte said, “I've been dating since I was 15. I'm exhausted. Where is he?”

Well, I live in New York City and have this conversation with my single friends all the time. Where is the best place to meet a good guy, especially if you’re not online dating? To find out, I decided to conduct my own personal survey; I asked my closest friends who are in happy, committed relationships where they met their partners.

To jump ahead, most of my friends met through a mutual friend. The app Hitch is definitely onto something.

Here are all of the places I heard:
At a house party through a mutual friend
While bartending
On a blind date that was set up through a mutual friend
While hosting a pool party for work
At the building where we both worked
At a repair shop where the owner is a mutual friend
On OkCupid
Through work. My fiance was a client!
At a pharmacy conference—spoiler alert—through a mutual friend
At a wedding (We already knew this. Read our tips on how to pick up a guy here!)
At a company Halloween party
On a hookup site
At the Top of the Standard. I ran into someone I knew who insisted I join him and his friends for one drink...my now-boyfriend was one of the friends.

Are you in a committed relationship? Where did you meet? If you’re not in a relationship, are you calling your friends to set you up immediately?
