We are taking skull donations for winners of the Paintball (BioBalls) competition.
The installation of geotextile fabric combined with gravel can help provide a proper surface that animals, humans, vehicles, and equipment can travel on, and can also provide an erosion control benefit.
With thousands of gallons of rainfall expected, erosion control with thousands of local quarry stone blocks (piedra cantera) and volcanic rock (hormigon) is the sustainable solution.
The plan for May was to initiate and complete the mult-tiered terraces. These terraces will nest thousands of plants with a purpose.
"You're so DIRTY!" Excuse this provocative statement, but it is a ploy to get you hooked into thinking how making curvaceous mounds of mother earth can be sensual.
We just got confirmation that the necessary excavation for the parking lot has been completed.
Today, our team broke ground on the access road leading to the future site for a Disaster Response Unit for Nicaragua and other Central American countries.
The road is sustainable, using local materials, including volcanic rock and vetiver plantings to control erosion. While creating this road, with extra non fertile soil and loamy dirt, we expect to be able to create two dams within large gullies.
There will be an additional special crew repairing the perimeter "living" fence for the 50 acre reserve.
The director, Kevin Shea, is donating for 2 days sleeping on the property to guide the project, and investigate areas of concern.
After the road is complete, we are requesting that the crew stick it out to complete the green parking "plateau". This is the only real impact to this "secondary" forest that we plan for construction. And all of this is done in a manner that will meet some of our objectives:
On the sidelines, a female lion (yes, you heard right) was spotted today on the adjacent property. It is common for the lions to feed on the crabs at the beach, then return to their forest quarters.

Welcome to O! It is the first smart wildlife reserve in the world. Designed and financed by a 9-11 FDNY firefighter. And we need your help to make it. We prefer those with experience, but are willing to take time to get you to do some volunteer work. Transport, food, dorms, and t-shirt provided.
Have fun saving the world!
