Repositories

Stewardship of intellectual content is a primary role for higher education institutions, and management, preservation, and access to information is often the core work of libraries. Our program has been instrumental in promoting a broad view of institutional repositories as a place for stewardship of the intellectual and cultural life of an institution. In addition, scholarly societies and other groups form digital repositories to bring together materials in a particular discipline. CNI explores approaches to managing and deploying repositories at the institutional level and the connections and systems needed to connect them with national and disciplinary-level curation strategies. We are also interested in repositories of research data, instructional materials, and cultural materials.
