Tanzania: 1995 National Assembly election results

The elections for most constituencies took place on 29-30 October 1995, but in seven constituencies in Dar es Salaam (Ilala, Ukonga, Kinondoni, Ubungo, Kawe, Temeke and Kigamboni) the National Electoral Commission was forced to nullify the voting and fresh elections were held on 19 November 1995 (National Electoral Commission 1997, 53-60).

Women's representation
Eight women won seats to the National Assembly, forming 2.97% of the 269 members elected from constituencies (Meena 1997). When the 37 seats reserved for women are added in the total number of women rises to 45 or 16.73% of the 269 directly elected members.
