ِA historic snowstorm is sweeping the Middle East, leaving chaos in its wake.
Turkey experienced its largest snowfall in 28 years, and residents of the cultural capital Istanbul awoke on Thursday to find the city's iconic Blue Mosque cloaked in white.
In Jordan, blizzards forced major roads to close for the first time, while in Jerusalem adults and children played in the snow.
Schools and universities in the region have been closed for days due to the adverse weather conditions - Jordanian children found alternative entertainment, taking part in snowman-building competitions in the city streets.
The storm is expected to continue in the coming days.
