Tribal mediation managed on Sunday to persuade Houthi militants into leaving Raida of Amran Province and to end the war between tribesmen and Houthis which resulted in killing more than 15 people and wounding dozens.
Local source told Yemen Fox that a tribal mediation, led by a number of sheikhs from Amran province, succeeded in ending the dispute between Houthi gunmen and tribesmen in Raida.
Houthi group had infiltrated into the town and made a mosque and some neighboring houses as posts to snipe and target citizens. At least 15 people were killed.
More than 40 vehicles of Houthis got out of Raida carrying gunmen, but there is still a group of Houthi militants refusing to leave Owaidain Mosque, raising the specter of renewing clashes, according to the source.
The source added that the tribal mediation consists of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Bader al-Din, Member of Shura Council of Islah, Sheikh of Eial Yazid tribe and MP Abdullah Bader al-Din, Head of General People's Congress (GPC) branch in Amran province, Sheikh Mohammed Yahiya al-Gholi, Central Committee member of the Yemeni Socialist Party (YSP), Mohsen al-Amosh, Sheikh of Hamda area in Raida, Sheikh Hamed Naji Mansour young leader who joined Youth Revolution from Eial Suraih district, Sheikh Amin Fras, Sheikh Abdul-Ghani GPC branch Head in Raida, businessman Rajeh al-Jabri and a number of sheikhs, local council members and dignitaries of Eial Suraih and Yazid.
The source told the newspaper that the truce stipulates that a conciliation to be established, a ceasefire to be maintained and posts to be removed indefinitely.
The source revealed that sheikhs, dignitaries and people of Raida will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss the problem, resultant consequences and future measures to be taken to limit Houthi provocative acts.
