OIC Secretary General hails EU decision on Israeli settlements

The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, commended the decision of the European Union to exclude Israeli settlements from any future agreement with any of the EU countries, and to prohibit funding, cooperation or the issuing of scholarships or research grants to any Israeli individuals or institutions in the settlements situated across the Palestinian and Arab territories occupied since 1967.

The Secretary General called on all states to prohibit and prevent the entry of Israeli settlement-made products to their markets, and warned against what Israel does to camouflage the products of the settlements. He also called for continued pressure on Israel to halt all settlement activities, end occupation, and acknowledge the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of a fully sovereign Palestinian state on all the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
