The Capitol (Jonathan Capehart/The Washington Post)
A lot of people seem to be in a constant state of angst about our democracy. They worry that it is slipping away or being eroded by lawlessness. Since there are more than a few examples to choose from of things that are threatening to our democracy, I give you three options:
Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Tx.), for his crazy calling up of the State Guard to ensure that an invasion of Texas by U.S. Troops during military exercises doesn’t happen.
Super PACs, because they obliterate the principle of one person one vote. Now, one person putting a million bucks behind a presidentialcandidate will have more power than one million people giving said candidate $1 each.
