Word from Capital New York’s Jeremy Barr is that CNN Digital is working on the launch of a “new type of video offering” that will deliver news and explainers in 90 seconds. It’s called “The Point.” As opposed to “Starting Point,” the morning show anchored by the wonderfully pugnacious Soledad O’Brien that was plagued by low ratings and was dumped for “New Day” in 2013. And as opposed to “(Get To) The Point,” which tanked just about immediately upon its launch in 2013 and that no one remembers. And as opposed to “The Point,” the Greta Van Susteren CNN show that she anchored before moving to Fox News in 2002. May it never be said that CNN lacks continuity.
