An-Nahar

A Daily independent Political Newspaper.

The 1st An-Nahar issue appeared in September,2 , 2007. It is intended to embody the liberal voices of all Kuwaiti people; to be an impartial tribunal for all political trends, based on our established belief in the importance of the national, moderate and balanced attitude, away from fanaticism, aggravation and sectarianism, in order to promote the culture of openness and dialogue among the various intellectual and political mainstreams.

The editorial policy of An-nahar is based on a set of major starting points, namely: top priority of our national higher interest; preservation of our national unity, which is considered the most basic element that ensures the solidarity of the people of Kuwait, leading to its advancement; avoiding any sectarian or categorical concepts or attitudes; stressing the role of Kuwait and its regional presence among the GCC countries; stressing also Kuwait's good ties with the other Arab and Islamic countries; growing friendship and peaceful relations with all world countries.

In spite of its short experience, An- nahar has taken into consideration, from the beginning, to follow a very professionally accurate and clear line in its work as a media means. Thus, it has become a media example, according to its original goals and ideals, gaining therewith a very proficient and successful role to play when dealing with different complicated business, political, educational and social issues. Most important as well, is its role of throwing light on the flaws and gaps that can preclude acquiring the comprehensive development and achieving the civilized project aiming to turn Kuwait into a world trade and financial hub, within the sublime vision of HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, the Emir of Kuwait.
