Response from U.S. Senator (FL) Bill Nelson RE: Gun Control

The following is an e-mail response I received from U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (FL) relative to an e-mail I sent him on January 8, 2013 asking that he oppose any and all attempts to destroy our Second Amendment rights and oppose any attempts to ban assault style weapons. He cuts right to the chase and, in typical "political speak", talks out of both sides of his mouth by saying while he supports the Second Amendment, he unequivocally states quote, " I support reinstating the assault weapons ban and restoring the 10-round limit for ammunition magazines. And, I support universal background checks so that we can know if person buying a weapon has a criminal record."  If he believes in the Second Amendment, he cannot believe in his policy position and vice versa.
We all knew Nelson was a very dangerous man and has done nothing for the last 4 years except act as a puppet for the Obama administration agenda.  He has no respect for the Second Amendment, does not understand its intended purpose by our founding fathers and is more than willing to send it to the graveyard along with other parts of our Constitution that have been buried.

Thank you for contacting me about policy proposals that seek to reduce gun violence in the wake of the tragedy in Newtown.
I am a hunter and have always owned guns, and I support the Second Amendment.
But assault weapons such as AK 47s are intended for killing, not hunting.
Solutions for reducing gun violence must address many areas, from protecting law enforcement and keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals, to school safety, access to mental health services, and confronting a culture that sometimes glorifies violence.
I support reinstating the assault weapons ban and restoring the 10-round limit for ammunition magazines. And, I support universal background checks so that we can know if person buying a weapon has a criminal record.
I appreciate hearing your views on this very important issue, and I will keep them in mind.  Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.
                                   Sincerely,
                                   Bill Nelson

Writing Nelson is a total waste of time.  He is always on the opposite side of the Constitution.

Nelson is a moron. he says he is for the 2nd amendment and the equates that with hunting - the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting.

Also, have to say to Hector Torres, I was not completely correct - it seems the filibuster is staying but may be weakened; which the Dems will not like when they become the minority.

According to insiders, OWEbama administration is FORCING ammo manufacturers to sell them large numbers of .223/.556 ammo that is being STORED in an ammunition bunker in Crane, Indiana as a means of CONTROLLING AMMUNITION AVAILABLE to the public. Know as SARF--small arms repair facility--is being USED TO STOCKPILE ammo and keep it out of reach of public.  www.examer.com/article/source-says-president-obama-stockpiling-ammo...  by Mandy Robinson, Examiner.com

Diogenes, you are right & sincerely thank you for correcting me. I did not fully expound in my sentence. We have to get ready NOW ourselves for the housecleaning which will take place in 2014 - I was in a hurry. We need to be preparing well before 2014 & NOW is the time to start.

It's time to for all Florida to recall Senator Nelson for failing to up hold his oath of office.

Brends, The sneaks will start making it impossible to buy ammunition.  They really want to get rid of the weapons of any opposition.  Don't trust them for a second.  They will get to the makers of ammunition, and they know how, believe me.
