11th All Africa Games

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

The maiden meeting of Chefs de Mission of the 11th All Africa Games held in Brazzaville from 24 to 26 February and concluded on a good note. This was the general opinion of the participants, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of sports infrastructure constructed by Congo to host the event.

The opening ceremony featured a number of addresses. It all began with the interim administrator of the African Union Sports Council, Michel Tchoya, who hailed the Congolese authorities and their desire to organise memorable games for youths of the Continent. In his opinion, preparations indicate that they are taking nothing lightly. Talking about the participation of African nations in the Games, Michel Tchoya urged all and sundry to comply with procedures and deadlines. In this regard, he asserted that : «The Republic of Congo is bracing up to host all of sporting Africa in 2015. We hope sincerely that Chefs de Mission here present, who have not yet forwarded the forms of their respective countries to COJA, shall take urgent measures to regularise the situation, given that the information contained therein is of vital importance for confederations and COJA, to help them better plan various operations. The African Union Sports Council strongly believes that this maiden meeting of Chefs de mission, which is holding 190 days to the opening ceremony of the 2015 All Africa Games, sets the pace for the last lap of concerted actions that will culminate in the resounding success of the 50th anniversary Games in September 2015,» Michel Tchoya concluded.
