About

Gunnebo House and Gardens is one of the most beautiful 18th century estates in Sweden. The house was built as a summer residence for the wealthy merchant John Hall and was completed in 1796.
The entire estate was designed by Carl Wilhelm Carlberg, town architect of Gothenburg, from the house, its furniture and interior decorations, to the gardens and surrounding buildings.
The estate has been preserved and maintained over the centuries and more recently restored to its former splendour with the aid of Carlberg’s original drawings.
Gunnebo House and Gardens is an historic location, owned and operated by the city of Mölndal. Visitors are offered guided tours of the house and the gardens.

Events
The house is also the venue for a wide variety of events, including chamber music concerts, authentic 18th century feasts, weddings and christenings.

Drink & dine
Coffeehouse and Restaurant is located in the servant?s quarters, which manages to capture and retain the true atmosphere of the time.
The menu includes homemade delicacies and meals prepared using organically grown vegetables from our own kitchen garden.

We also arrange dinners, parties, conferences and lectures. During the summer, the gardens become the setting for a variety of activities, such as music and theatre productions.
