Jordan Rally gets thumbs up from FIA

AMMAN (JT) - The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body of world motor racing, gave on Wednesday the thumbs up for the service and the award ceremony area of the Jordan Rally, the third round of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), which will be held April 1-3. Khaled Zakaria, Jordan Rally clerk of the course, told The Jordan Times that construction work has started to transform the area and give it the best look and shape. “We have an excellent cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing as they are working around the clock and according to FIA regulations,” he said. “Work on the design of these areas will take a couple of days and also the service area on the Dead sea shores,” he added. The 2010 Jordan Rally WRC consists of 346 competitive kilometres. The second round Corona Rally Mexico will be held March 5-7.
