Secretary General of the Iraqi Baath Party Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri verbally assaulted ISIS and Iran, and hailed the Saudi-led alliance targeting Houthi militias in Yemen, reports said on Friday.

The speech of the strongman of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was heard in a recording broadcast on social media purported to be for him.

Al-Dour started his speech saying: "Welcome to you. In this meeting, I confirm that what is going on in our country is a direct Persian occupation engulfed with a hateful sectarian cover."

He continued: "If there were some Safawi [Shia sect] collaborators with some goodness for Iraq, they have been put aside –on top of them Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr. He had a chance to speak freely, but now this chance was ended."

He gave examples about other Shia Iraqi nationalists, but stressed that all of them had been put under the Iranian "iron sovereignty" as no one is able deliver any speech that does not please Iran.

Regarding incident on the ground, Al-Douri said that the Safawi militias occupied Al-Nukheib; however, it had not been under any threat in order to be involved in the clashes.

"You know," he said, "it is part of Al-Anbar and it is a strategic site for Iran, which needs it in order to prepare for opening a new front with Saudi Arabia and be close to the fronts with Syrian and Lebanon after the closure of the north."

Al-Douri called for the "Iraqis in Al-Anbar and Karbulaa to strongly fight the Persian criminal plan, which aims at swallowing Iraq." He stressed that Iran is the main player in Iraq and it is working through "Al-Quds Army."
