We reexamine a recently proposed non-inflationary solution to the monopole problem, based on
the possibility that spontaneously broken Grand-Unified symmetries do not get restored at high
temperature. We go beyond leading order by studying the self-consistent one-loop equations of
the model. We find large next-to-leading corrections that reverse the lowest order results and cause
symmetry restoration at high temperature.

Abstract: This paper builds upon an essay the author published in the Journal of Cosmos and History in June of 2014, in which
nonexistence is seen as the engine, axis and source of existence. In this article, I will share my understanding of what I have uncovered since then. Nature appears to have designed us to evolve into a more unified, awake state of consciousness, one
that is aware of both our unique (apparently form-based) individual selves, and of our (unformed) void-like “face before we were born.” Many religious teachings for millennia have pointed to the realization of this unity as the highest attainment of a human life. Today, there is also a growing global awareness of the potential of awakening to this reality together, as the next
step in our human and cultural evolution. This way of being together may prove essential to our survival as a species.

Over these last hundred years, many of the realizations described in ancient texts have been verified by western science. As one such example, Hinduism states there are ultimate realities whose interaction accounts for all experiences in this universe. The so called “real” Purusa (Sat-Purusa) is a void, which gives rise to an unchanging spirit (Purusa)--the point that radiates consciousness through all points, as a colorless light. All else changes (Prakrti) and is subject to cause and effect. Hinduism refers to spirit as present everywhere, in everything, and everyone—as the soul of the universe. It is said that spirit regulates, guides and directs our evolution through cause and effect. Spirit breathes life into matter, as the presence of consciousness, as the oneness in every life form, and in all of humanity--as the essence of both the individual self and the universal Self.

According to Hindu teachings, it is why the universe is dynamic--versus being static. Yoga schools also hold that the path to
self/Self-realization involves an ongoing awakening--to this single spirit coordinating its countless material manifestations.
Of the tens of millions reporting near death experiences (including this author) many realize we’re “in this world but not of it.”

Contemporary research has examined what appears to be essential for cultivating conscious community, finding that a shared sense of emptiness frequently precedes social integration. My own ongoing research in attention management and group intelligence shows subjectivity and objectivity are integrated and displayed through the quality and presence of our attention.

I have found that whenever we are aware of the void-like nature of our awareness—whether alone or together--our ability to
receive and reflect is significantly enhanced. Participants report feeling one with everyone and everything. They share
enthusiastically about the evolution of a “commonsense” that can be cultivated and popularly embraced. Once our attention is
undivided, people recognize its quality and presence. We can experience the breath entering and leaving one another’s bodies as well as a profound altruistic way of being together.

This is a subtle process, requiring a deep sense of shared relaxation, and the gradual development of "effortless concentration.” Our minds and bodies serve as a lens--as do our eyes and ears—for attending to whatever we choose to notice. Clearly, we seem designed to receive, reflect, and be--whatever we attend to.

In this paper, I propose a highly speculative bottom-up theory of everything continuously originating from nothing. It is
proposed how top-down theories, such as general relativity and quantum mechanics might approximate this author’s instinct.

The Paradigm Symposium was founded in 2012 by Scotty Roberts and Micah Hanks as the public conference arm of Intrepid Magazine. Since then, the goal has always been to Bridge the Gap between the sciences and the alternative, offering a platform for reasoned presentation, critical thinking, dissemination and dialog of ideas, hypothesis, theories and even some far out notions.

Today, Scotty Roberts, John Ward, Rocci Stucci, Micah Hanks and a host of friends and supporters continue the tradition, and strive to continually bring people together to think and be inspired.

REDUX?
Sometimes, business realities dictate, and the Paradigm Symposium 2015, originally slated for the traditional first-weekend-in-October date of October 1-4, 2015, needed to be rescheduled. The new date is MAY 12-15, 2016, and the Symposium will now be held at the Templar Lodge in western Minneapolis.

In 1964 a positive ion horizontal type Van de Graaff accelerator (KN3000) was installed at Atomic Energy Center, Dhaka (AECD). This accelerator was manufactured by the High Voltage Engineering Corporation, Burlington, Mass., USA. Van de Graaff Accelerator consists of a number of operating parts related among each other. This accelerator is capable to produce and accelerate 3 MeV proton beam using the source gas Hydrogen, Helium, or Deuterium. The major parts of the generator are: Accelerator Tube, Drive Motor, Alternator, Charging Belt, Ion Source Bottle and Terminal Electronics.

Single crystals of sodium fluoro antimonate  (Na3Sb4F15) were grown by slow evaporation technique for the first time. The solubility of the crystal in water has been studied. The mechanical properties and work hardening coefficient of the grown crystal has been studied using Vickers microhardness tester. The etch patterns of the grown crystals were studied. The grown crystals were characterized with the aid of single crystal X-ray diffractometry to confirm the crystal structure. The vibrational frequencies of various group ligands in the crystal have been derived from the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrum. Thermal stability of the sample has been analysed using TG-DTA studies. The dielectric constant (r) and dielectric loss (tan ) were determined as a function of frequency in the range 100 Hz-200 kHz at different temperatures between 40oC- 150oC.

The La Silla/QUEST Variability Survey (LSQ) and the Carnegie Supernova Project (CSP II) are collaborating to discover and obtain photometric light curves for a large sample of low-redshift (z < 0.1) Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia). The supernovae are discovered in the LSQ survey using the 1 m ESO Schmidt telescope at the La Silla Observatory with the 10 square degree QUEST camera. The follow-up photometric observations are carried out using the 1 m Swope telescope and the 2.5 m du Pont telescopes at the Las Campanas Observatory. This paper describes the survey, discusses the methods of analyzing the data, and presents the light curves for the first 31 SNe Ia obtained in the survey. The SALT 2.4 supernova light-curve fitter was used to analyze the photometric data, and the Hubble diagram for this first sample is presented. The measurement errors for these supernovae averaged 4%, and their intrinsic spread was 14%.

Dirac equation for curved space-time is solved in Cartesian coordinates giving a result which is contrary to the generally accepted notion in cosmology that space expansion does not impact size of atoms. The solution shows that size of atoms reduces in proportion to the square of scale factor in an expanding universe. Work of McVittie, who solved the same equation with a different result is reviewed, highlighting his mistake and why he got an incorrect result. As the result is completely counter-intuitive a correction to the Dirac equation for curved space-time is attempted, which is desired due to many other reasons as well. The corrected equation when solved, shows that size of atoms changes in proportion to square of scale factor. Same result has been reported earlier as well using Schrodinger equation indicating that correction proposed is in right direction. Gravitational redshift formula is derived using the new equation, which matches with general relativistic prediction. The new equation proposed in this paper is thus indeed correct Dirac equation for curved space-time. Validity of standard model of cosmology is questioned due to this discovery.

Recent developments on generalized uncertainty principles (GUPs) and modified dispersion relations (MDRs) play an important role in estimating the quantum corrections to the
cosmic line element. We first apply both approaches to de Sitter-Schwarzschild and Reissner-
N ̈ ordstrom black holes. Then from the fixed point method, the modified Landau-Raychaudhuri equations are derived in emergent cosmic space. We conclude that (non)singular big bang solutions are obviously model dependent.

In this paper, the language of standard big bang cosmology, the problems of the big bang, and as a solution to these problems, the inflationary cosmology are introduced. This paper is a bachelor project for ASTR312: Modern Astrophysics II course at Middle East Technical University.

In this dissertation, gauge/gravity correspondence in a de Sitter space, and their application in the field of cosmology is studied. Basic material necessary to understand the topic including conformal field theory, and geometrical properties of AdS and dS spaces are reviewed. The well-constructed counterpart theory of AdS/CFT duality, and the renowned Maldacena's conjecture are also explained. dS/CFT correspondence
has some special features, time is holographically emergent, and non-unitary conformal eld lives in the asymptotic future of the space time. In dS/CFT theory universe is an RG flow from the far future UV point to the far past IR fixed point. We show that it is possible to formulate a holographic framework for
the in inflationary universe, despite the fact that the direct map between cosmology and dual gauge field is not understood. A holographic model is proposed that is able to provide predictions that are compatible with recent observations. It is also argued that predictions of this model in the perturbative regime can describe strongly-coupled quantum gravity state of the early universe, and oer some solutions for the initial condition problem.

This article -- the gist of my PhD work -- will be published in November in the Festschrift for my Guide, Prof. Dr. Job Kozhamthadam. It deals with the possibility that the quantum world be recognized as fully causal.
