Inspired by the screen sirens of Hollywood’s golden age, the tenth anniversary issue of Vogue China features the top ten female stars working in China today. Shot by Mario Testino, this unique collaboration will be the first time these leading female celebrities have been photographed together, whether by Vogue China or by any other fashion publication.

Angelica Cheung, Editorial Director of Vogue China commented, “The past ten years have been a very successful period for China and Vogue China, and we wanted this anniversary to be a real celebration of all of our achievements. We decided on this theme of photographing the ten most iconic Chinese women today, who represent the qualities that our publication promotes – they’re beautiful, stylish, but at the same time are also people of achievement, who have always maintained a positive outlook on life. Having worked closely together with Mario Testino over the past few years, he has always shown a keen curiosity and fascination with the glamour of these Chinese celebrities. It made us think about the golden age of Hollywood, and we eventually came up with the idea to pay homage to the incredible style of that period, but with a modern touch.”

Mario Testino added, “It was an honour and privilege to photograph the most iconic Chinese actresses and singers for this issue, as they bring a level that normally would be hard to get together in one shoot. They were all amazing and got into the characters perfectly. I think it is an iconic moment for the magazine.”
